ALFATHERM launch "Serica"

SERICA by Alfatherm is a new surface finish incorporating anti-scratch and anti-fingerprint technology.

The new surface is extremely robust but at the same time it has a luxurious appearance and has a warm and silky feel when touching the foil.

SERICA’s development was possible thanks to a substantial investment by Alfatherm in their lacquering line, following a review of the market by Giuseppe Cerizza, General Manger of Alfatherm's furniture division. This investment resulted in a significant technological step for­ward of the system.

"We know that matt surfaces have been gaining in popularity and market share for some time now" – says Alfatherm Marketing Manager Barry Berman – "So in order to generate interest to the mass market you have to create a WOW factor and that is what SERICA does. It en­courages customers to feel and touch the surface and that is the selling point, plus the fact that they are getting a premium product at a realistic and commercial price”.

SERICA is made to order in thicknesses, to suit the substrate being used and the demands of the customer. The colour is a matter of personal choice, but to start the discussion process Alfatherm are introducing nine new trend colours (see above) covering a wide range from warm and cool greys to new defining tones of Slate Grey, Terracotta and Kobe.

Sample rolls for lamination are available upon request in 0.25mm thickness (250 micron).

The nine new SERICA colours will also be on display on the ALFATHERM stand in Hall 06 Stand C034 at INTERZUM 16th-19th May in Cologne.
